It has served us as a crutch, friend, and important part of dealing with any life situation. Putting down the harmful substances means that we are taking a stand for our own welfare; that we are choosing to put up the fight to win over the addiction. Just keep in mind that once the addiction is gone, your life will probably be better.

There is nothing more powerful than having your life back in your own hands. No longer will you act on your impulses as you may have at one time with complete blinders on. Now, you are equipped with the tools of what it takes to reclaim your life and to keep yourself on a path that is productive and even more pleasurable than the substance. It is not a perfect life, and roadblocks may appear as setbacks. Setbacks become easier with time to overcome and become a stronger individual.
